Couture Goes Back To Black

Designer heavyweight Jean-Paul Gaultier unveiled his new couture collection last night inspired by the late Amy Winehouse. Following her death in July, Gaultier has crafted a line of stunning pieces reminiscent of Amy's kitsch 1950's style. From capri pants, corsets and polka dot prints, to cinched waists and a Fred Perry-esque dress, the catwalk show was all about Amy. Models donned the iconic beehive wigs, winged eyeliner and beauty spots, with a few going the extra mile by strutting the catwalk fag-in-hand to the sound of 'Rehab'.

Winehouse was, despite tabloids reporting otherwise, a style icon and before her tragic death teamed up with her favourite design house Fred Perry to create her own collection. To now have a couture collection inspired by her alone, is a fitting tribute to the singer.
