Was Business All Misery For Farro Brothers?

The Farro brothers of Paramore have this weekend announced that they'll no longer be part of the band that they formed back in 2004 with singer Hayley Williams. Drummer Zac admitted to finding it hard on the road of late with his upcoming wedding, and has reportedly formed a new band already called Tunnels.
Guitarist Josh also wanted to move on to persue other musical interests.
The pair informed the rest of the band that their last show would be their gig in Orlando, Florida which took place on 12 December. A phony blog about the subject sparked the 3 remaining members, Hayley, Taylor and Jeremy, to post an announcement on their official website.
"None of us were really shocked. For the last year it hasn't seemed as if they wanted to be around anymore. We want Josh and Zac to do something that makes them happy and if that isn't here with us, then we support them finding happiness elsewhere."
So what does this mean for the future of Paramore?

"We never for a second thought about leaving any of this behind. We really hope that you can be encouraged by the fact that the three of us who are still here are ready to take on another chapter of our journey together. You have always been what keeps us going so why would we stop now?"
I'm sure the remaining trio won't be short of offers to fill the Farro's shoes, and with the band's incredible fan-base the shows will most definitely go on!
A new album and South American tour is already planned for 2011 and Hayley also tweeted today - We aren't breaking up. Me Taylor and Jerm are in this for the long haul!

Good to know, news of a total split would've put a slight dampener on the festive season! The band's poularity has risen to an insane degree over the past year so it would've been more than a shame if
Paramore were No-more.

High-School-Heartbreak

Well, it's official....sickeningly sweet couple Zac Effron and Vanessa Hudgens have called it quits after 4 years together.

In June's issue of Glamour, Hudgens was quoted as saying "Right off the bat, we had a connection, I think everybody could see it."  Referring to the pair's meeting whilst filming the first High School Musical film.

There's sadly no drama to report on, no cheating rumors or public rows, a source told E! Online, "They were together for so long. It just ran its course." - Although I'm sure it wont be long before they're linked with some other members of the Young Hot Hollywood crowd. Both Effron, 23, and Hudgens, 22, are currently filming seperate projects, Zac in New Orleans and Vanessa in Hawaii, so could absence make the heart grow fonder? We'll have to wait and see...

More Lines For Pete...

...No, not those kind of lines! *Cue canned laughter*

Pete Doherty has a fair few lines to learn after being offered the leading role in a new indie French film, depicting the life of 19th century writer Alfred de Musset (pictured bottom).
It's no real surprise that Pete was the number one candidate with the amount of similarities the two characters share. De Musset was an alcoholic, controversial poet and romantic that had a well publicised love affair with the first major female French novelist, Geroge Sand (also pictured bottom). Not a million miles away from Pete's notoriously controversial persona with his past of drink, drugs, and of course, his relationship with iconic supermodel Kate Moss (pictured below).

I wonder if there's comparison to Alfred's friendship with Frédéric Chopin to that of Pete's with Amy Winehouse...?

This could be a classic art-imitating-life role for Pete to break his way into film. The dandified singer said of the project;

"We start shooting in Paris on 27 December. The storyline centres around a love triangle so it's pretty intense and romantic. I don't know if I'm a good actor but they say I am."

The world will wait with baited breath to find out Pete...

Newlyweds - Take 2!

If, like me, you were a fan of Nick and Jessica's 'Newlyweds' series, it may be slightly sad news that both Lachey and Simpson will be saying their 'I Do Cherish You's once more...alas, not to each other.

Jessica has been seeing ex-NFL player Eric Johnson, (pictured below) since May who proposed on Nov. 11 just 6 months after the couple began dating. Eric popped the question at Jess's home in LA with a five-carat ruby and diamond sparkler in hand. Jess said;

"He got down on his knee and I had to sit down on it because I was so shocked,"

The rest of the Simpson clan weren't so shocked at the news as Johnson had spoken to her parents, Tina and Joe, and sister Ashlee 3 weeks before the proposal! Of which Jessica was "surprised that the Simpsons could keep a secret"

The southern singer carried on to say "I was … short of breath. It was definitely one of those moments where I've never felt that way before, ever."
No offence to Nick I'm sure!
The couple, both 31, are yet to set a date for their nuptials as Jess is busy promoting her new festive album 'Merry Christmas'

Switching to the other half of Newlywed fame, 'Sing Off' presenter and former 98 Degree-er Nick Lachey has asked long time GF Vanessa Minnillo (pictured above) to be the new Mrs Lachey. The pair met 4 years ago while filming one of Nick's music vids.
Nick, 36, proposed to former TRL presenter Vanessa, 29, near a beach in California with an Asscher-cut diamond flanked with trapezoids...fancy!

He said of their relationship, "She's my soulmate in every way"

Seems him and Jess have moved on to bigger and better...lets hope neither couple signs up for a another reality show - AKA paving the way to splitsville.

Fi-X Factor?

There's been uproar, yet again, after Sunday's X-Factor results show.
For the first time in the show's history it was left to the judges to decide
who went through to the final, instead of following the public vote.
Fans of the show feel their votes have now been disregarded with the last
min rule change as host Dermot O'Leary announced on Saturday's show,

"Your votes and your votes alone can get your favourite act safely through to the final"

Apparently not! On Sunday's show the public vote was only taken into account
to decide the bottom two and a regular "sing off" took place.
It's no surprise that this has sparked rumors of a fix, fearing that
'Cheryl-in-the-making' Cher Lloyd received fewer votes than Mary.
It's been reported that a duet between Chezza and Cher had been planned for
the final, so was the rule change put into place to ensure the
chav-tastic performance went ahead? We'll have to wait until Saturday's
final to find out...

Britney's Bday Runaway?

I have a lot of love for Britters, and lately she's (yet again)
had a hard time in the press, having to defend her relationship amidst
rumours that her long term boyf Jason Trawick has physically
abused her.

We all remember the infamous shot-gun vegas wedding back in
'04 between Brit and her childhood sweetheart Jason Alexander, well it
seems the one time Mr Spears received phone calls from the
singer with her confiding that Trawick "beat on me".
RadarOnline have published the audio clip of the alleged convo
but Camp Spears, and Britney herself have labeled the story as
being false, saying the woman speaking in the clip is "clearly
not Britney" and that "The statements attributed to Jason Alexander are a
complete fabrication as Britney has not had any
form of communication with Mr. Alexander in years,"

The story was also fuelled by a picture of Brit
with what appears to be a black eye (pictured below)

So what did B herself have to say on the story? Like all
celebs she turned to Twitter to speak out....
"Star Magazine, Radar Online, Jason Alexander and the
rest of you liars, Ya'll can kiss my lily white
southern Louisiana ass!"

But it seems the allegations haven't dampened Britneys Bday
plans. To celebrate her 29th birthday on December 2nd she
headed to Mexico and Tweeted....
"off on a romantic weekend with Jason for my birthday.
xoxo Brit."
A source told PEOPLE magazine "They suntanned and did a lot of
relaxing and decompressing, they seemed very much in love. "
Let's hope so! With a new album out in March, Miss Spears could do
with generating some positive press.

Beyoncé's Bootylicious Catwalk Debut

As if B didn't have an impressive enough CV already...
it seems she can now add supermodel to her list of achievements.
When Tom Ford made his debut to womens wear at this years
New York Fashion Week, the runway show was top-secret and
uber-exclusive with only one photographer being allowed access.
And who better could he ask to grace his catwalk, than the
alluring beauty, that is Beyoncé.
3 months on from fashion week, Harpers Bazaar have FINALLY
released the amazing shots that captured the show.
Mrs Jay-Z did herself proud in a stunning embroidered fishnet
and python-pattern sequin gown with fishnet boots and
some fiercely big hair!
To see more pics of the decadant show pick up January's issue
of Harpers Bazaar UK, out 6 December.

Kelly Hot-sbourne!

Kelly O has always had a tough time in the press for her family's antics, drug addiction and publicised break-ups. But a large amount of what's been written about Kel has surrounded her weight. When she took on the challenge of 'Dancing With The Stars' in the US, her life took a tremendous turnaround and Miss Osbourne has shed 50lbs! And it certainly shows in not only the amaze dresses she's been rocking lately, but in her overall confidence.
"I was called fat and ugly in the press almost my entire life. I understand that being judged by others comes with the territory, but it broke my heart and ruined my self esteem. It sets you up to hate yourself in a huge way. I was so angry about the things people said about me. I truly believe it’s the main reason I turned to Vicodin and ended up in rehab three times. I just hated myself"

Her attitude is a million miles away from this now. Even though she struggled through a break-up with fiance Luke Worrall earlier this year, Kelly has moved onwards and upwards with her new bod and new gig on E!'s 'Fashion Police' and performing in the legendary Pussycat Dolls cabaret show (pictured below).
When E! captured the moment she saw the amazing cover for Shape magazine, she said "I can't believe that's me". The new fashionista revealed that she didn't use any fad diets, quick fixes or surgery to achieve her svelte new shape, only exercise and a controlled, high protein diet. She also added, "I hope I can be an inspiration to other women who want to lose weight, it's hard work but if i can do it, so can you"
Good on ya K!

Royalties

Prince William and Kate Middleton today announced that they are officially engaged and gave their first interview on BBC1's 'The One Show'.

The couple have had much speculation bestowed upon their relationship, particularly back in '07 when they briefly split. Luckily the two reconciled and good old Will decided to put a ring on it...and what a ring it is.
Kate has been blessed with Diana's amazing sapphire and diamond ring, which William said was his way of making sure his mother "is close to it all." And it seems the ring made the prince more nervous than the actual proposal, saying "I kept hold of the ring for about 3 weeks, in my backpack, everywhere I went. I knew I'd be in trouble if anything happened to it" I'd imagine so Willy!

So was it a shock to the future princess?  When asked, the bride-to-be said she was "...very surprised and very happy." Prince Will got down on one knee when the couple were holidaying in Kenya with friends last month, and even though the pair said they had discussed marriage before, she had no idea he would pop the question in Africa. They suitably waited to announce the news after Remembrance Day had passed.

It's nice to see a Royal couple so relaxed and genuine during such an intimate interview, and even crack a few jokes. William made a few smirky tongue-in-cheek comments, including how he was "of course a hopeless romantic and the proposal was perfect". It's been compared to that of Charles and Diana's post-engagement interview which seemed awkward and all formality, and when asked if Charles was in love he replied "...if anyone can know what love is" How romantic! Hopefully this generations Prince and Princess shall live happily ever after.
Perhaps Katie Price can can give them some wedding tips?

Marc My Words

'Marc by Marc Jacobs' is one of my favourite collections....and what I mean by that is, I admire his pieces and on the two occasions that I've been to New York, have bought as much of it as I could afford.
His quirky designs and motifs make his basic tee's and accessories just that little bit more special, much like the watch I blogged about previously.

In his recent line, the monochrome pieces really stand out for me. And it seems Miss Pixie Lott may agree, as she's been wearing these loafers, pictured below, non stop. But at $295 (£183) I'd be wearing them with skirts, dresses, leggings...and my bath towel.

Sticking with the black and whites, this lip-print 'Mademoiselle Danger Scarf' (left) retails for   $178 (£110) and is reminiscent of the leopard print Louis Vuitton scarf that was popular among the celeb circle last year!

Lastly, Marc's 'Catty Q Printed Franny Bag' (below) also caught my eye, partly from the name, and partly for the print which is great for winter as it's again - monochrome - but isn't dull with it's stand-out pattern and offers a slightly different design to the normal leopard and zebra print. This retails at $328 (£203).
And if you're lucky enough to be pottering around New York's Bleecker St, take a trip to the Marc by Marc Jacobs store!

She's Not So Sly, That Swift...

There's been a lot of buzz circulating Taylor Swift's new album "Speak Now", or rather, who her inspiration was for many of the tracks,in particular, "Back To December".
Taylor's been quite open about the lyrical content of her new album telling USA Today "It's the first time I've ever admitted guilt in my music" a trait which artists usually steer clear from.
And as for her muse for the song? There's been talk that her name twin Taylor Lautner could be behind the lyrics, whom she dated last year. The country star explained how she had, last year, been in a relationship where the person treated her perfectly, yet she "acted carelessly" with them....seems T-Swift could be regretting it, judging by these lyrics;
"Wishing I'd realized what I had when you were mine
I go back to December, turn around and make it all right
I go back to December all the time"
Other Hollywood hotties supposedly behind her tracks are Joe Jonas and John Mayer - and she's now rumoured to be getting cosey with Jake Gyllenhaal. Safe to say that if I had the attention Jake-G I wouldn't be acting so "carelessly".

Paramore Bag Their MTV Award!

This years MTV Europe Music Awards have given Paramore their first award at a televised event. Hayley and her boys have been going strong for seven years and have previously been nominated for awards, including a Grammy in 2008, but they've never managed to take home the gold in front of their peers and fans.
Paramore have had their most successful year to date, since forming back in 2004. Their phenomenal second album Riot! threw the band into the forefront of the 'alternative' scene and their third studio album Brand New Eyes, has done more than cement their status.
The five-some have called this their most collaborative album yet. Its predecessors were predominantly written by singer, Hayley Williams and bassist, Josh Farro, while Brand New Eyes is the result of the band exploring different sounds as a collective. Farro said of the acoustic track on the album
"Misguided Ghosts is just finger-picking and that's not really Paramore's sound but for some reason it works," he continues. "I don't think it would have fit on RIOT! at all, but it's definitely the perfect song for this album."
The risk obviously paid off and the November ceremony saw Hayley accept the bands award; (debuting some fierce pink hair may I add)
"I hope my mom's Tevo'ing this...We have never won an award on TV before, thank you so much! It's by the grace of God our band is still together 7 years later, thank you so much to all our fans, you've kept us going, you've kept us so strong-we love you so much....Wow....So I guess, here's to 7 more years, let's do this!"

   Yes...lets!

And Mr Brand Is Off The Market.....*Sigh*

As I type this (perhaps with a tear in my eye) Russell Brand and Katy Perry are feeling the love in India for their seven-day-long wedding extravaganza. Katy's last tweet on Tuesday was;
Greatest gift u can give us is respect & ♥ during this private X. No use wasting ur X w/ STOLEN or FALSE info. Thnku for this.
The ceremony, which took place yesterday, is said to have taken place in a luxury resort including 21 camels, elephants and horses, and performed by a friend of the Perry family. Although, that is according to The Sun so the parade of animals may be a fabrication - makes for good reading though eh!
They're said to be carrying on their decadent declaration for a further six days, with a huge entourage of security to ensure the partying doesn't get too wild - but with the wild-man himself being a recovering alcoholic the drinking may be kept to a minimum.
There's been many-a-rumor about the ceremony from bejewelled elephants to personal love guru's so it'll be interesting to see what the pair actually planned should they choose to divulge the deets of the day.

The (annoyingly) attractive couple met last September at  MTV's VMA's which Rusty was hosting. Whilst closing the show he joked;
"I'm supposed to say that music is the real winner tonight but Katy Perry didn't win an award and she's staying at the same hotel as me so she's gonna need a shoulder to cry on, so in a way, I'm the real winner tonight!"
Little did he know, that was the night their whirlwind romance began by Katy throwing an empty bottle of water at the big-haired comedian shouting "You've met your match mother fucker!" ....and it seemed he had. The now Mrs Brand told Esquire magazine that she tamed the former sex-addict by making him wait for sex. She was fully aware of his reputation and wasn't up for being another notch on Russell's, no doubt dwindled, bedpost and made him take her out on proper dates. Fair play to her! I met Russell back in 2004 when he performed at my university and he is quite the charmer....I most certainly missed that boat.

Watch This Space

Whilst Internet shopping (or rather, Internet browsing) I seem to be noticing a fair amount of fancy watches lately, which seem to have made a comeback. Here's a few of my faves...
The first is a 'Marc by Marc Jacobs' Graphic Numeral Watch at £175. The detailing on the watch is fun and quirky with different shapes and animals circling the face. I also like that the designers name isn't emblazoned accross the straps and just subtly written in small lettering around the face. This piece is all gold but there are also silver and white versions depending which you prefer, as well a whole host of other random and original pieces, so check 'em out!

The second 'Fiorucci Rear Window' watch is, in my opinion, just amazing, and at a very respectable £50! I'm a big fan of 1950's style and the pin-up era, with the polka dot strap (which also features a heart pendant) and large face, this watch is a real statement piece.

The final watch is an 'Adidas Original' in Purple Candy, also for £50. I'm feeling the whole retro vibe with watches, and in fashion as a whole, especially the Casio watches which this Adidas number reminds me of. The colour is vibrant and the small golden logo isn't too overbearing like some designers who whack their logos onto watches for as much advertisement as poss. These watches come in a host of block colours and multi-colours and with the reasonable price-tag you're not paying too much for the Adidas brand!

All these can be found at www.asos.com

Splitsville

We all know that celebs may put up a front in public and no-one knows what goes on behind closed doors (even if there's a camera crew following as part of "reality" TV) but I can't help but feel a little shocked (and slightly bummed if I'm honest) at the split of Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman. Their relationship was kept very private, not often appearing in tabloids together or spotted out and about. The only glimpse we had into their life together was the tit-bits divulged by X-tina during interviews. When asked about her husband the singer would beam a smile as though telling tales of a schoolgirl crush, and speak of him with such adoration that it seems a shame they're now taking the divorce route. Perhaps he just wasn't giving her What A Girl Wants? - Sorry...I couldn't help myself.

Elsewhere in Separation Central, Courtney and David Arquette have also called time on their 11 year marriage - or could the whistle just be for half time? The pair have agreed to a "trial separation" and made a statement explaining;
"The reason for this separation is to better understand ourselves and the qualities we need in a partner and for our marriage"
The couple are said to have "set boundaries" for eachother during their time apart but still intend to remain "best friends and responsible parents". I guess they wouldn't be taking the path of friends-with-benefits? Probably not very responsible...
There have often been rumours and stories printed about their marriage and possible splits. After meeting way back on the set of Scream and their agonising journey trying to have a child these two have obviousy been through a lot together. In a Hollywood-world where weddings come and go faster than Paris's BFF's, the Arquette's have fought to sustain their relationship. Hopefully we'll one day not have to witness 'The One Where They Get Divorced'.

Where Oh Where is Wino??

Miss Winehouse has been M.I.A from the tabloids lately, no photos of her stumbling around with Doherty with eyeliner smeared around her eyes, so what has the Rehab singer been up to?
In a recent article in Glamour, Amy reveals that she's been busy creating a new (and greatly anticipated) album and even designing a clothing range with her fave designer, Fred Perry! The singer says of her line and style:
"The collection I've done is so classic, because their style and my style are pretty much the same....Fred Perry is my be all and end all....I may not be trendy but it's more about shape for me."
The petite star is known for her 40's / 50's kitsch style so it's no surprise that her range includes fitted polo shirts, pencil skirts, argyle prints, patent belts and an oh-so-cute bowling shirt embroidered with "Amy" which will no doubt be an instant sell-out. The article shows Amy in a beaming light, worlds away from her former drugged-up partied-out image. She goes on to say how she would eventually like to design a children's range with the brand and spoke about future Mini-Winehouse's of her own stating that she's now at the age where having children is on her mind.
Whether it's friends, family, new love or just sheer determination to sort her life out, Amy's come a long way from her weird on-stage ramblings about Blake. Let's hope she doesn't go Back to Black.

The Coming and Going of Age

Hitting the quarter century mark this July has made me assess various aspects of my life; freinds, boys, jobs and generally made me think - what the hell am I doing?
I started this blog after doing a short internship at Closer magazine in a bid to start a career in the world of magazine journalism. Since graduating university i essentially wasted a lot of time back in my home town of Exeter getting well, wasted. Going from job to job living for the weekend. Everyone wants to build a career and do a job they love, or start a family and find contentment with their surroundings. It's easy to get stuck in an endless cycle of going to the same places with the same people, which was something I intended to change. Sending my CV to every magazine I could think of I spent a couple weeks in London at Closer which opened my eyes to a life that I really could live if I put in the work.

During my stint in the big city my great aunt sadly passed away, a woman who was quite a big part of my childhood. Her passing brought back memories of the magical garden filled with four leaf clovers, pink wafer biscuits, home made yorkshire puddings and the knitted surprises she left in the bed for me and my sister. Her funeral was a lot harder than I anticipated. As the coffin drifted down the the centre of the room to Eva Cassidy's Over the Rainbow my eyes filled with tears and I was genuinely overcome with emotion and saddened by the lack of faces that were there to pay their respects.
Funerals are funny things, a macabre and morbid cloud lingers as the coffin sits awaiting the flames while we stand and sing hymms. It was one of the most upsetting moments I've had to deal with so far which was made harder by the fact that I didn't expect it.
Going to that funeral, and my time in London really made me assess the people in my life. I have a large group of friends and a good family but who are the ones that would actually be there when I needed them? Family, of course, are always there whether they like it or not, but what about the others? If I really think, I could easily count the friends that matter on one hand...easily. The ones you know wont judge you for your actions or the silly mistakes you make, that'll be there at 4am on the other end of the phone and who have the only advice you take when you've had your heartbroken. I had a recent heart-to-heart with my best mate whose dad recently told him - These are the years, you'll make a handful of friends that'll stay with you and stick by you. There comes a time where an endless amount of friends that are there to party with just isn't enough. When you get to an age where life-changing decisions are about to be made is it someone offering you a cocktail to forget your worries or someone who will encourage you to be the best that you can be that you need? For me, the time has definitely come where I know where I want to be in life and who will still be around when I get there, and for those few who have shown me no judgement and shared so many things over the years, I am truly grateful.

What The F - Factor?

This years X-Factor has caused quite a stir and we're yet to even have the first installment of the live shows! With reports of "Mini-Cheryl" Cher being accused of bullying, the outrage of Gamu's dismissal, and Katie's so called sex addiction and secret career in the US, this years show has become a bit of a circus.
It's a risk that all contestants take that skeletons will fall from closets and worms will surface from their pasts and present but this year seems to be more bonkers than ever...
Katie Waissel has has about a zillion different stage names including Katie V and Lola Fontaine and "starred" in a YouTube series which was sponsored by Sprite and followed whats-her-name around New York trying to make it as a singer. Many viewers were dubious about the authenticity of the series though, so will all this, plus the fact she may still be under management, harm her chances in the competition and change the way the public see's her?
As a nation, we like the charm, the vulnerability, the uncertainty that comes from hopefulls like Rebecca, whose sheer talent and self doubt will be enough to get her through the coming weeks with no need for gimmicks or headlines to enthuse the country.
Chezza's had a bad time of late for letting Katie and Cher through to the live shows. News of Gamu's possible deportation made it a little easier to understand, but seen as both gals royally screwed up their final auditions infront of Cheryl and Will I Am, the choices made are clearly not based on vocal ability alone which, for a singing competition, really should change. Apparently the Northern judge is set to explain her decisions to the public on tonight's show to clear the air due to the many death threats she's received (which seems a tad over the top to me, it's only bloody X-Factor?!).
Whatever twists and turns the show may bring and whether we love 'em or hate 'em, one thing's certain - we'll all be watching.

Teenage Dreaming???

Katy Perry's latest album 'Teenage Dream' has had some mixed reviews. The candy scented follow-up to her debut 'One Of The Boys' has a lot of insiders on the fence, could it be because there's less "I kissed a girl and I liked it" and more "I wanna see your peacock-cock-cock" ? True, the track 'Peacock' drips with innuendo but that's the fun of it, and isn't that what the future Mrs Brand does best? Her songs, videos and style create a bubble of fun that I suspect wont be popped by a few negative reviews. The track 'Circle The Drain' shows a slightly different side to the normal pop-go-lucky sound. There's still attitude there with lyrics like "wanna be your lover, not your f**king mother" but reveals a side to Katy which is more vulnerable and suggests that life doesn't always smell like candy-floss.

She's created a sweet buzz of excitement around this album with her first two releases of 'California Gurls' and 'Teenage Dream'. The first receiving two nominations for the VMAs and four for the upcoming EMAs. Katy was outdone by the almighty GaGa at the American ceremony (no-one really stood a chance did they?) so I for one hope she gets some recognition at the European awards show!

Fearne and....Fearne?

Fearne Cotton's popular show "Fearne and..." gives a sneek peek into the lives of some of our fave celebs. As she attempts to find common ground and delve into their lives a couple of her subjects point a few questions to Fearne. Perez Hilton wanted to know about her incident with the Bieb after she revealed he had a tattoo (gasp!) and Beth Ditto asked her if she wanted a baby to which she replied, "so badly".
Fearne is a self confessed goody-two-shoes but I often wonder what A Week With Fearne would reveal? Wild parties with Kieth Lemon? Or perhaps just a cuppa with Holly Willoughbooby? Whatever the outcome...I'm intrigued!
